Declaration on honour template
A declaration on honour lets you attest to facts with your signature alone, without appearing before a commissioner for oaths. You state the facts one by one; the document ends with the statement “I declare on my honour…”, the place, the date, and your signature.
Some organizations accept it for routine processes. When an organization requires a sworn statement, use a sworn declaration or a solemn affirmation instead.
What is this template for?
It records, under your signature, a series of facts that you state are accurate, without swearing.
When can it be used?
- Responding to an organization that asks for a “declaration on honour”
- Attesting to facts when swearing is not required
- Adding a signed attestation to an administrative file
Before using it
Check with the recipient that a declaration on honour is enough: if a sworn statement is required, this document does not replace it.
